Ancient Cores are items in Breath of the Wild. Ancient Cores are a rare drop from Guardians. They can also appear in Treasure Chests found in the overworld, in Ancient Shrines and as amiibo rewards. Link can give them to Purah at the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab to upgrade his Runes. Ancient Core farming So I'm working on getting my ancient set to 4 star and I'm stuck at getting the 15 ancient cores. I figured the best way would be to go outside hyrule castle and kill all the guardians outside but after obliterating everything otu there only 3 dropped cores and 2 dropped giant cores and I need 12 more regular cores lol.
