Hitman: Contracts is a 2004 stealthvideo game developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidos Interactive for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. It is the third installment in the Hitman video game series. As of April 2009, the game has sold around 2 million copies.[1] High-definition ports of Contracts and its predecessor and successor, Silent Assassin and Blood Money, were released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in January 2013 as the Hitman HD Trilogy.[2]

Gameplay[edit]

Hitman Contracts Meat

In Hitman: Contracts, gameplay takes place in a third-person perspective, as the players control Agent 47, who is sent to various locations to assassinate specific targets. A wide array of weapons can be used, from kitchen knives, assault rifles and handguns to belt-fed machine guns. While stealth and subterfuge is encouraged, the game allows the player to take a more violent approach and gunfight their way to their mission goals. As players progress through the game, they can collect the various armaments found in the levels, allowing them to be used in future missions. Aside from the more straightforward ways of killing targets such as gunplay and strangulation, several missions allow the player more subtle ways to eliminate hits, such as judicious use of poison, or arranging 'accidents' like a heat-induced heart attack inside a sauna.

Players are rated on their performance based on several factors; key among which are the number of shots fired, non-player characters (NPCs) killed (and whether they were armed adversaries or innocents), and the number of times the guards are alerted. The lowest rank is 'Mass Murderer', which is awarded to players who kill large numbers of NPCs in the pursuit of their target and do not use stealth. The highest rank is 'Silent Assassin', which is earned when the player accomplishes their mission without being detected, and generally without killing anyone other than the intended target(s).

Contracts continues the trend of context sensitive actions, which means that one button is used in multiple situations for multiple uses. For example, when the player is near a door, the context sensitive button will allow the player to perform door-relevant actions such as keyhole-peeking, lock picking, or if allowed, simply opening it. When the player is near an unconscious or dead NPC, the same button will allow the ability to either acquire the person's outfit, or drag the body to an area where it will not be found by guards.

Along with the context sensitive button, the 'Suspicion Meter' returns as well; this meter informs players of how close they are to blowing their respective cover. Actions like excess running indoors, brandishing weapons openly, residing in restricted areas, or sneaking can raise suspicion. Proximity will also usually raise the meter. If the 'Suspicion Meter' fills, guards will open fire on sight of the player and the current cover becomes useless. If the guards discover a fallen body, or if an unconscious person wakes and alerts them, the 'Suspicion Meter' will raise much faster than it would otherwise.

Disguises can be either found in the environment or taken from the bodies of male NPCs. Depending on the disguise, the player can then access areas restricted to most individuals in a level. These disguises can be seen through by guards, as stated above; e.g. if guards in a level are all wielding shotguns, a player dressed as a guard but not similarly equipped will draw more suspicion. Also, certain behaviors (like picking locks) will cause guards to see through a disguise as well.

Plot[edit]

While in Paris on a contract, cloned hitman Agent 47 is shot by an unknown assassin but manages to return to his hotel room before collapsing. Believing that he might die, 47 reflects on his past assignments, starting with his escape from the lab of his creator, Dr. Ort-Meyer. He recalls other previous jobs, including the killing of two fetishists in Romania, a black marketeer selling weapons to terrorists in Kamchatka as well as his client, a corrupt nobleman and his son in the United Kingdom, a biker gang leader and a Kazakh nuclear arms dealer in Rotterdam, Franz and Fritz Fuchs in Budapest and several triad members as well as Lee Hong in Hong Kong.

Before he can bleed out, a doctor sent by the Agency arrives and performs emergency surgery. Groupe d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale (GIGN) officers reach the hotel before the operation is complete, forcing the doctor to flee without dressing the wound. After recovering his strength, 47 wakes up and checks his mission briefing. He learns that his original targets were U.S. diplomat Richard Delahunt, as well as Portuguese tenor Philippe Berceuse performing at a local opera house (an event later featured in 'Hitman: Blood Money'). Both men were involved in a child prostitution ring operating in Eastern Europe. He was also ordered to assassinate a third target, Inspector Albert Fournier. Having been tipped off to 47's presence, Fournier surrounds the hotel he is taking refuge in with heavily armed police.

Escaping the hotel, 47 kills Fournier. He makes his way to the airport, where he boards a plane and escapes the country. His handler Diana, who happens to be sitting behind him, confirms his suspicions. She also warns 47 that someone is targeting him and the Agency, before slipping him a file and a case filled with cash.

Hitman: Contracts Original Soundtrack was composed by Jesper Kyd and released in 2004. The score features the same Latin choral arrangements as in all the other scores; however, they are heavily sampled and mixed into the dark electronic soundscape. As summed up by Kyd, 'First of all it is a much darker score. Hitman 2 was an epic story that kind of spanned all over the world. This one, although there are different locations, it's not one big epic story. It's a lot of darker, psychological small stories mixed together, so the score follows the darker aspect of Hitman and his career.'[4] The score was awarded the title of 'Best Original Music' at the 2005 BAFTA Games Awards.[5]

Try to kill the target before attempting this glitch, since you only fail at that point by dying (there is no bomb timer, escape, etc). The level ahs a police chopper on the ground level map when the SWAT team starts assaulting the ship. You can snipe the chopper gunner and he will most likely drop, along with his M60. If you can stomach taking the weapon and escaping at that point, you bag yourself an easy M60 at the Training/Hideout.Bloody Tub When playing the mission ', chances are you've come across a locked set of double doors on the first floor past the lift. Pick this lock, and go past through the corridor (you can lift the police uniform from the cop taking a shower) and go all the way to room 109, where you'll find a bloodstained room and a dead body.

Go straight to the bathroom, and you'll see a blood-filled tub. This is where the fun begins. Switch to first-person and look at the mirror where you'll see the tub over your left shoulder. Pretty soon you'll see a surprise that'll shake even 47.Reflection Ghost When playing look at the loading screen of the slaughter house.

You should see a faint skull. This skull is also on the pinball machines in Rotterdam Rendezvous. The Ghost in Traditions of the Trade appears in all the bathroom mirrors in the closed-off wing of the hotel. Also, in the room where the guard is taking a shower, it appears as if he sees the ghost himself. When looking in the mirror, he acts creeped out, puts his hand up to it, and then turns his head to look.If you shoot out any of the mirrors in that wing, the blood splatter stops even though you still get a target.Level Select Open the HitmanContracts Configuation Settings file found in. If you don't get it here, you will have to wait until the 2nd to last level. Make your way to where the SWAT sniper is, on the building overlooking the ship.

After the SWAT team attacks the ship, a helicopter will begin circling the area. If you shoot the gunner on the ship, he will fall to the ground with his M60. Make sure that you assassinate the target first and you kill the gunner while the helicopter is over a land area that you can reach.See Lee Hong In the level, once you get the double Desert Eagles, keep going forward through the second set of doors until you get to the last tank with a body in it, then look to the right and there is a tank with Lee Hong written on it.Master Key In the level “Traditions of the Trade” when you are on the 3rd floor you will eventually see a vacuum boy. When he opens a door to vacuum the room, go to the door and pick up the master key.

You should then have access to most doors.Dual Gold Desert Eagles After getting the key card from you most likely went to Asylum Aftermath to collect your Mini Gun. After that continue thru the level and when you get to a large room with windows and the door ahead. One patient will be walking around and on your right will be steps leading down to a door with red lights over it. Enter that room with the key card.

Walk forward until you find the Gold Desert Eagle Guns right under your nose!Cheat List Open the hitmancontracts.ini file (it's in the folder where the Hitman game files are) and add the following lines to it:ENABLECONSOLE 1ENABLECHEATS 1Then start the game and during gameplay press SHIFT + ESC. The keycard that unlocks the doors can be found during Mission 9: The Wang Fou Incident. It is called Orthmeyer’s Keycard and is on Lee Hong’s desk in his office on the second floor of his mansion.

After finding the card, finish the mission and save your progress. Quit to the main menu and replay the first mission. Head to the northern section of the map and turn right in the small room with the red flashing sensor on the ceiling.
