A Lot of people have been comparing this game to a lot of other EA titles such as EA titles such as Madden and fifa and How I would say that is a good argument your only really looking at the MTX systems. I'm going to start off by explaining a lot of the key components in PVZGW/GW2 and then I will put in a lot of the systems that was put into Battlefront II.Plants vs Zombies GW/GW2: In my opinion I think the first one was better and the perfect example how to make a casual AAA shooter.Gameplay now the gameplay consists of a variety of game modes where plants and zombies clash in epic battle across a widespread of creative maps. Most of my info will be based on its large scale mode as it is the large spread appeal of the game.Turf Takeover: This is the games large 12v 12 linear based objective gamemode which consists of both factions attacking and defending on an array of detail maps. It sound familiar right?

In this one team must complete a series of objectives to pass through the map while the defending team has to defend the points for a certain time limit. While I do have a gripes about this game mode such as character balancing as in the zombies are way better at attacking then the plants are it's not bad thing when the only problem is a little balance issue.Classes: there are 14 individual classes in the game each with different playstyles and abilities. These are divided into 7 on each side where while they are unique they have a close equivalent on the other faction. Now in even greater depth these characters have different variants/weapons that all play the same role but might be better suited for long range or close quarters. The problem with this is how you get new characters/weapons and abilities which I will talk about a little later is a minor inconvenience.Progression: Those who play the game will wonder why I'm not talking about sticker packs right now as they are hugely integrated into the progress of the game I'm saving that for its own subject.

Progression in this game allow you to play your favorite variant and level them up and even prestige them to unlock faster reload, quicker health regen, and increased aim. All of this can be done with each variant of a character.Gameflow/bugs: This game is running on the same engine as BF2 and with glitches and bugs are a rarity and you'll actually have to try and find them to have some luck. Connection is good and netcode seems stable and have had less than a dozen disconnections/unplayable lag in both iterations. Map loading times are fast as fuck getting you into a game within 20 seconds and not 5 minutes. As I said earlier there are a little inconsistency with hero balance but is a minor inconvenience to a skilled player.Skill Gap: the skill gap in this game is pretty fair but don't let the artstyle fool you will come against some Thanos tier player which will make you cry. So in short its relatively easy to pick up but master will undoubtedly annihilate teams.Team balance: didn't really feel like this fit into a specific category but team balance is pretty fair, haven't been in alot of blow outs and for the most part teams can put up fights.DLC: both games release FREE content on a monthly basis for about a year with new characters, gadgets, and mapsLoot Boxes: to unlock character variants and abilities in this game a player must grind up coins to buy RNG based sticker packs filled with cosmetic and game changing items. Sounds pretty familiar right?

Motocross Action started in 1973 and has been around now for 40 years. If you want to know about bike tests, racing, and products we are the magazine for you. Now this isn't a problem if you could only get coins via gameplay except that's not the case. You can buy coins using real money on day one to get an early lead on someone just picking up the game.

For the most part you earn coins and can buy a guaranteed character pack in about 3 avg games or two games where you go straight nuclear on their asses so you could get most characters in about 50 hours. Btw no duplicates.Opinion: This product is one of the best AAA games that EA has released along with titanfall 2 in about the last 5 years. And the shocking part is that a fucking developer team that makes a tower defense game could have a better shooter than Dice is unbelievable.Star Wars “Battlefront II”I’m going to try and rant about as little as my anger will let me and just try to point out the huge similarities that this FULL PRICED GAME is to the previous title.Gameplay: once more a variety of gamemodes where the player will play as 4 different classes in a variety of game modes with its main selling point being Galactic Assault. I will not be going into SA because that is the favorite child of this community.Galactic Assault: A linear gamemode with either faction attacking a variety of less creative objectives to push through the map. Those who play both games will realize that it plays mostly the same just with a different skin. A Lot of the progression in this gamemode is based on a objective on rails moving forward granting the attacking team closer spawn points which is not skillful and the only reason is the opposing team gets pushed back because kill barriers move up.

Gamemode is not balanced with characters in mind while one class dominates(officer) and the others just seem lackluster. Same mode, less skill, different artstyle, and and absolute unit of bugs.Classes: 4 classes that are the same on each faction but just look different thats uses a different guns and abilities that for the most part don’t even fit with the character. Super meat boy ps4 controller. While the progression system changed from which it was first intended to be. The original relied on getting abilities and upgrades via loot boxes.

Class balance is terrible!!!!!Progression: I’m comparing both games progressions based on release to prove a point that IS literally copied it from PVZ GW. You earn weapons via kills were most of them don't work for the playstyle of the class and progress to only get attachments via kills for these guns. While ability and emotes/skins were locked in loot boxes. But hey “pride and accomplishment” am I right?Gameflow/bugs: It wouldn't be a Dice game without game breaking bugs and connection issues so were in May with most of the bugs not patch with netcode being mediocre(shots hit target enemy flinches and plaster hit animation plays but no damage record). While the gameplay is more skillful than the previous entry dice has been following down a path or making their games more casual by comparing Battlefield 4 to Battlefield 1. Once more same engine huge difference in quality of the experience just playing the game.

Zombies

Plus it’s THEIR engine how do other companies make it run better then them?Skill Gap: pretty good as in good players will thrive while newer players will stand a chance only part is dying to bs random crap(AI AT-AT, random grenade throws, dude who has same ability just higher leveled.Team balance: bruh are you serious? It’s been 7 months since release and we've had no team balance update and ¾ of games are steamrolls.DLC: Error 404: Promised DLC not found.Loot Boxes: Insert can I copy your homework meme. Initial progression system relied on players getting abilities and abilities upgrade trough rng loot boxes that were stuffed with cosmetic item with the purpose of making it harder to get the good stuff. And btw you could get duplicates that would give you shit. Now all fine and dandy except you could pay an ass load of money to get loot boxes and even if you PAYED you had the same chances of getting duplicates players using in game currency!

All this added up to redditor calculating it would take about 3,000 hours to earn everything the loot boxes had to offer. It’s the same system that EA tried to implement but their greed bested them since it’s a star wars title and it will sell well.In conclusion EA saw a good game with a fair business model and tried to replicate it but failed to do so and hopefully they will do better in the future.

Plus Gw2 is cheap on xbox store and has a huge player base so you'll find a lot of fun but also recognize the huge similarities. TL;DR But yes I agree 100%. It's ridiculous. Well, first of all, how they got away with this system in PVZ GW (2) to begin with, but I guess it wasn't popular enough to warrant a massive backlash which is possibly what emboldened them to pull the same crap in Battlefront 2?Though actually I felt like PVZ GW2 was more engaging just because of all the cosmetic and class unlocks, the little 'overworld' that you could explore and do quests in, and the fact that it felt like you were unlocking stuff at a reasonable pace.Battlefront 2 just took the worst parts of that game and tried to make a game out of it, and failed:.
