Rated 5 out of5 byfishydishy890 fromLike the style and game play. The first 100 levels are easy, for me anyway. After that you have to use your brain a bit as it gets more challenging and did not take me long to figure out which cubes go where. Like the cute animals and getting the potion was fun. Just the ending was a bit of a let down was expecting a congratulations at the end off the game but hay was fun and only took me a month to complete, this was the CE version.
Hope they come out with another. Use to play cubis 1 and 2. Like them all. Rated 5 out of5 bybeezelbom fromChallenging!
I was very surprised at exactly how challenging this game has proven to be. I have never played a Cubis game before and I am thoroughly enjoying this one. Yes it is very cartoony and cutesy, yes the story is an often used one but that all fades away, but that's ok. I start playing and my only goal is to complete the levels and I have had to play some of them multiple times in order to do that.
As I said I have never played a Cubis game before so I really can't judge if the early ones were better but I think this one is an excellent puzzle game. Rated 4 out of5 bypennmom36 fromI'M GLAD I WAITED FOR THIS VERSION! Cubis Kingdoms is a fantastic 3D Match 3 game that requires strategy to win. I love that I have to plan my moves carefully, so I don't get stacks and stacks of cubes filling up the board until I run out of moves!I wasn't willing to shell out the big bucks for the Collector's Edition version, and although it took a long time to be released, I'm glad I waited for this Standard Edition version! The CE version has 50 bonus levels which are a plus, but other than Wallpapers, Concept Art, Music, and Avatar pictures, nothing is offered that constitutes paying double the price, but that's just my personal preference. This is a Limited Moves type of Match 3 game that you play on a checkerboard, by shooting 3D cubes of 7 different colors, representing the 7 Elements. You can shoot the cube (and switch to the next cube if desired using the icon on the bottom right) from any column or row along the left and bottom sides, when at least 3 cubes of the same color collide, they will be removed. Cells that are highlighted, (color specific) indicate that a new cube will appear there on the next turn, which can cause the cubes to stack upon one another if a cube lands on the highlighted cell without making a match. The goal is to make a specific number of matches of specific colored cube Elements as shown, within a specific amount of moves.
Once you have met the level goals, you can continue to make matches to clear the entire board, if you have enough moves remaining to do so. You can earn up to 3 Stars per level, and any level can be replayed.
The gameplay is easy to figure out, but not so easy to master, especially when obstacles are added that can't be moved, such as Stone Blocks, Cats, Frost, Tar, Holes, and Portals! As you progress, Power-Ups are added such as Lightning Cubes, which will remove all cubes of the same color, once included within a match, Phoenix Eggs, Cube blasting Ermines, Turtle Shells to fill holes, and Raven Fire. (sounds epic doesn't it?)If you clear all cubes from the board, you will earn a bottle of the Elixir of Life. Throughout the Level Map, there are Phoenix Icons, that will awaken by turning Orange once you have acquired enough Elements. To release the curse trapped within the Phoenix Totem, you will need to use the Elixir on the totem, which lifts the Dark Fog and frees the animals and plants in that area of the map, and you can slightly interact with some of those animals too.CUBIS GAMES AVAILABLE (on BF)Title.Release Date.Average Rating.Cubis Gold 2.December 22-2011.

Rated 3 out of5 bybooklover2 fromCubis is great till the last level I bought the standard edition and really enjoyed playing it. Challenging enough to keep you engaged, but not impossible like some of the timed games are. You need to think to make it through the puzzles.
What changed it from a five star to a three start is that I made it through all 150 levels, got 3 stars in each and cleared the board for the revive potion, but when I got to the last level I only have 115 of 130 stardust (and 4 potions). I tried going back to get more stardust, but it doesn't seem to work, so I can't revive the last part of the land unless I go back and replay from scratch (and it would be really furstrating to do that and then find I couldn't finish).
So I have set it aside for now. Rated 3 out of5 byEpicMaus fromFun until Level 89 I'm glad I waited to write this review. When I first started playing, I thought: this is the best match three game I've played in ages!! The story is a bit trite, sure, but I love the visuals enough that it made me more invested in the story. Things were sailing along until I got to Level 89.
I know that you can technically 'win' a level by getting all the elements you need, but if you can't clear the board, you don't get potions, and without those you can turn 'totems' back into people. What's more, it's not FUN playing a level 20+ times. Like another reviewer mentioned, I wish there was a time limit option (instead of move limit), or even a 'no pressure' option, where you could play with unlimited moves and time. It'd still be a fun challenge to see if you could beat your previous number of moves. Rated 1 out of5 bywhalenjk fromSuch a disappointment I still play Cubis2 years after its original release and always wondered why they didn't make a sequel, so was really excited to see a new Cubis game. What a disappointment. They've turned what was a challenging, 3 dimensional game into a fuzzy cartoon, with an unnecessary cutesy and distracting storyline and, in a game dependent on pinpoint cube placement, an awkward cursor and really clumsy controls.May be an OK game for people who haven't played the original, but for those of us who loved Cubis, this is a real disappointment.
LIke the others, deleted after 10 minutes or so. Rated 1 out of5 byBeadfisher fromIt didn't need an update I still play Cubis Gold 2 almost daily.
It is not as much fun as the original Cubis. This Cubis has been cutesipated with a story line that is totally unneeded, music that is overbearing.
The controls have been fouled up becuase they don't feel right. Getting the cubes into position is a slithery mess. See, when I want to play Cubis, I am interested in sliding cubes to a puzzle. I'm not interested in saving a kingdom, earning elixirs or any of that. I don't want cuddly animals.
